Hey guys! Long time, no blogging again! There’s just so much you can do when your nails break off, you know… Oh well. Onto the swatches!
A few weeks ago my friend Tina over at Beleza gave me this entire collection since she had already swatched them and needed space for more polish. Oh poor me ;) I hope you like them!
Cement the Deal
Cement the Deal is a light grey cream polish with a slight purple undertone to it. The formula was a bit tricky, thin but not self leveling at all. You can still see the brush strokes in these photos, not very cute. A decent coat of topcoat would have been good here. This is three coats and no topcoat.
My Silk Tie
My Silk Tie is a silver metallic polish, and that’s actually about it. It’s a nice looking polish and all, but not very unique. The formula was a bit too thin for my taste, this is three coats and no topcoat, and I think a fourth would have been necessary. I want to try and see how it does with stamping though.
Dark Side of the Mood
Dark Side of the Mood is a dark grey cream polish with strong blue undertones. It goes on a bit jelly-ish, and three coats are necessary for full opacity. It dries with a bit of a satin finish, and almost a slight shimmer. and about a shade darker than in the bottle. Check out the close-up photo, what would you call that finish? I had trouble with this polish though, the formula was rather thin and it wasn’t very self leveling either. Gorgeous shade, but tricky polish.
Romantically Involved
Romantically Involved is such a nice red cream. It goes on flawlessly and has slightly yellow undertones which goes fantastic with my skin tone. This is three coats, no top coat. From what I could tell, this polish doesn’t stain and cleanup was nice and easy and smudge-free.
Embrace the Grey
Embrace the Grey is a medium grey cream polish, and just as difficult to work with as the other greys. It’s not self leveling what so ever, and the formula is rather thin. This is also three coats and no topcoat. It dries a bit darker than in the bottle but not too bad. Oh I wish this had a better formula, it’s such a nice colour.
Shine for Me
Shine for Me is a silver foil polish loaded with blue and teal glitter particles, and I can’t decide whether I love it or hate it. I definitely hate it during removal (flecks everywhere!) and application (4 coats!), but I love it on my nails and in the bottle. This is four generous coats, which is difficult in itself to work with due to thickness and stickiness. For some reason, it looks a bit duochromatic in my photos, and I have no idea why. The lights I use in my lightbox are all the same so it can’t be different coloured light, and I can’t see the duochromatic effect in daylight. Oh well, maybe I have a magic lightbox!
Åh så himla fina :) Får nog försöka köpa mej ett miniset med dom
Låter som en bra idé! Hoppas det är lite bättre formula på dem i de små flaskorna dock :S
