Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
I hope you have had a lovely holiday whether or not you celebrate Christmas, and that you’re full of new energy and ready to take on 2015. I had a lovely time over the holidays with my husband, son, and parents-in-law, lots of food and sweets, laughs and moments that will make wonderful memories.
My husband got me the best Christmas gift money could buy – a new camera lens. More specifically, the Nikon AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm lens. I got to try it out in the camera store, and couldn’t wait for Christmas morning to arrive so that I could finally use it! Yet, it took me a few days to actually have the time to sit down and play around with it, but I thought I’d show you a few of the photos I managed to get.
The nails on these photos are made by my lovely friend Elin of Sleepy Elin, at the salon Best of Nails where she now works. The base colour is a red gel polish by Nfu.Oh (I can’t remember the number though) and a red glitter gel polish over it. It is, as you can see, fairly close to China Glaze Ruby Pumps, so I’m using that to pose with.
Note that these photos have not been edited in any way (except cropping and adding of watermark). No colour correction, no lint removed, no sharpness enhanced, nothing. The detail is absolutely amazing, although I need to work on the depth of field a bit.
What do you think? Pretty sweet, eh? Did you get anything nail related for Christmas? Please let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear from you guys! :)
