Remember a while back when a colleague of mine picked up some polishes for me when he went to London with his girlfriend? Well, it turns out I just keep getting fantastic colleagues – I received this mini Spider-man collection from a girl at work as a thank you gift for hosting a barbecue evening for my entire office. Natalie, if you read this (I’ll force you), thank you so much!
Into the Night is a dark blurple shimmer polish, and it’s very sheer. This is four normal coats but I noticed while editing the photos that you can see plenty of bald spots where the light doesn’t hit the nail directly. The coats dry quickly, however, so one more coat wouldn’t be a problem. It’s very similar to China Glaze – Want my Bawdy (I’ll post a comparison in a bit), so if you own it you won’t need both.
Number One Nemesis is very difficult to describe – it has a grey-brownish colored base and is crammed with minute flakes in mostly antique gold and brown shades but as the light hits it you can see some other colors popping in as well. This polish is also sheer, and I noticed the same thing here as with Into the Night – it would have needed a fourth coat in order to be truly opaque.
I know I’ve already swatched Just Spotted the Lizard, but as it is included in this mini collection I thought I’d better include it. This is three coats, and just as with the previous two, one or two more coats would have been needed, unless you choose to layer it over a darker underwear polish.
Your Web or Mine? is a frosty salmon/coral pink polish that I thought I would hate – until I tried it on. This polish needs only 2 coats to reach full opacity, and sure, you can see some brush strokes, but it’s not too bad in my opinion. I found that this shade went very well with my skin tone, which is rare for pinks, so I’m stoked about that! It’s perfectly office friendly too, which is a huge plus.
