Wait a second – what’s this?! A HOLOGRAPHIC nail polish – and a white back ground?! What’s going on? Well, I don’t particularly like holographic nail polishes, so I rarely buy them and more rarely still do I show them on the blog. I believe this is the first holographic polish I’ve shown here, and therefore the first time I use a white background. It was just impossible to get the magnificent rainbows to show up properly in my lightbox, so I had to use the afternoon sun and my bedroom wall this time. Who knows, the white background might just grow on me.
Black Halo from Urban Outfitters’ nail polish brand W.I.P is a dark grey polish with a strong holographic effect. The formula is great compared to the few other holographic polishes I’ve tried, and almost a one-coater. I had to patch it up on the index and middle finger but the remaining two nails have just one coat of Black Halo, and no topcoat. However, this polish doesn’t lose any of it’s holo effect as long as you apply topcoat immediately. If you wait around for the polish to dry, I found that all the different topcoats I have ate away some of the effect (might not be true with ALL topcoats, though. I tried Seche Vite, China Glaze and Dior). But, I’ll shut up now and let you guys look at some more photos. Enjoy!
