Are you ready for more vampy awesomeness? Check this hottie out! I finally own Black Cherry Chutney, a polish that has been on the wishlist for ages and I still haven’t picked it up. Shame on me! But now I will wear the crap out of this polish, it’s just pure perfection.

Black Cherry Chutney is a gorgeous dark burgundy polish with a warm golden shimmer which hides in the base and gives the polish this glorious lit from within look. The shimmer was a bit difficult to capture on photo, but I hope I’ve done it almost justice in these photos.

It’s nearly a one-coater, but to get the depth that this polish possesses you will need at least two coats. This is two normal coats and no topcoat. Cleanup was a bit trickier that I like it, since it puts me off polishes when they’re a bitch to clean up. But with Black Cherry Chutney I just don’t care! And because of that, here are some more photos of this absolutely wonderfully perfect polish.

  1. ÅH! <3 Jag tror att BCC var på önskelista i mer än ett år innan jag lyckades få tag i den. Det var en ren GLÄDJE att öppna det paketet – och lacket är ju helt underbart. Amazing! Dina bilder gör det verkligen rättvisa.

  2. Hi!
I am such a big fan of your blogg I recently discovered and what a joy! I just wanted to ask you, if you have time:
I have just received Black cherry chutney as I thought it was the exact colour I had been looking for after reading your review.
I used the Nail Envy as base coats (2 as indicated on packaging, as my nails are very soft, I was biting them until not so long), then two coats of black cherry and a dry express topcoat from Ciate which is my only way to get polish on my nails dry enough for moving on to other things with three young children. And then, what a disappointment… I mean, it is a nice colour but it seems like no matter what colour I use, it all looks like a very dark burgundy with no shimmer or else. Just another very flat dark polish nail. Is yours looking like on your pictures when your hand is out of your light box? Or do you think it is because I use too much? I am not very good as it is a recent hobby for me so I have a tendency to use quite a lot of polish nail on my brush…. If I don’t, then it dries out very quickly when applying it half way through a nail and looks bulky when I come back on it again, if you see what I mean?! Have you ever made a little tutorial “applying nail polish for dummies”? I could really do with some advices…
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read all this

    • Hi there Cri,

The polishes get a bit glorified in the lightbox, I have to admit, but I can see the shimmer on my nails when I wear BCC, but maybe not as much as on these photos.

It’s possible that the topcoat is dulling the shimmer, however. I don’t think it’s because you apply thicker coats (personally I prefer thinner coats but that’s different for everyone), but you could try to start with a normal coat, then add a thinner one once the first one is dry. Wait a bit before adding the topcoat, and see if you can see the shimmer at all. If you can, then change topcoats.

Another thing you can try is to give the bottle a good shake. Sometimes the shimmer settles on the bottom of the bottle and might not transfer onto the brush very well.

I never thought of making a tutorial for painting nails – thanks for the idea! I will look into it tonight after work and see if I can visualise how I do it with photos.

Thanks for taking the time to write, and I hope some of these ideas will help. BCC is just such a gorgeous polish and I hope you can figure out how to get the most out of it!

      Take care,
      Emelie
