Next up from SammyDress.com are these cute rhinestones, beads and sequins! They come in 12 little pots in a clear plastic container which makes them quite easy to store and keep track of. I have only a few other kinds of rhinestones in my nail art collection, and I’ve always found them quite hard to work with due to lack of imagination. These come in so many different shapes and colors, though, that that won’t be a problem!
Left to right: pale pink baguette cut, red heart cut, pale blue star cut, yellow moon cut.
Left to right: solid black pear cut, clear pear cut, pale green marquis cut/drop cut, bright purple flower cut.
Left to right: peach opalescent heart shaped sequin, pink opalescent heart shaped sequin, gold colored mini bead, silver colored mini bead.
All of the rhinestones have a flat foiled back so that they look like real gemstones. If your nails are very curved, the larger ones might be a bit tricky to place so I suggest you make the base nail polish quite thick so that they really stick. The sequins are rather thick and stiff, so I found them a bit hard to place nicely when using more than a couple, and I just LOVE the small mini beads! At first I thought they would be the hardest to place, but they really are so easy to work with. All you need is a Q-tip that’s slightly moist on the end and a steady hand!
I recommend using slow drying polishes when working with rhinestones, especially if you are placing more than just one or two. Other than that, only your creativity can limit you when working with these. Can’t wait to try them all!
I have quite the few ideas for what I want to do with these, but I’ve only had the time to do and photograph/edit one so far, so I’ll include it here. Rather cute, don’t you think?
This set of 12 jars of rhinestones, sequins and mini beads are $4.95 at Sammydress.com, and very well worth the price!
