Taboo is a blue based polish with a warm purple shimmer with some larger blue shimmer particles, and one of the most popular polishes in 2013. You can see it everywhere in the nail polish blogging universe, and I was so lucky that my husband picked this one up for me at the airport when he was travelling. Taboo sold out in Sweden fairly quickly (at least what I saw), and Chanel polishes are so expensive here.
There’s so much going on in this polish! I didn’t quite manage to capture the hints of blue sparkles in here, but I got some of them. In some lighting it almost looks a bit duochromatic (index finger in the photo above, for instance), but this is just a trick of the light since my lightbox has two different kinds of lamps.
If you are brave enough to use thicker coats, Taboo is a one coater. I, however, am a bit of a coward when it comes to layer thickness and had to use two. Also, with two coats, the polish dries glossy, in these photos I’m not wearing topcoat at all. To keep the depth of this polish, however, you might want to add a high gloss topcoat.
