Swatch of Max Factor – 135 Royal Blue

Royal Blue is a very dark navy blue cream polish, and as such, not very much of a royal blue at all. It’s very pigmented and almost a one-coater, but it can leave some bald spots so I applied a second coat. It’s a down right nightmare to clean up and remove because it so pigmented, so if you’re not careful you might end up with blue cuticles until you dip you finger in acetone. Such a shame, because I do love dark blues because they’re such a nice alternative to black, but unless I really have the time, I wouldn’t be able to just quickly do a manicure with this polish. The formula is rather thick in this one too, which only adds to the awkwardness of working with this polish (and probably why it’s almost a one-coater). I’m guessing it can be because they’re over a year old, but seeing as they charge quite a lot for these polishes here in Sweden (in most stores they are about €9 for 10 ml, and OPI is €15 for 15 ml, so they’re almost the same ml price), they ought to be keeping better than this.

Royal Blue är ett väldigt mörkt mörkblått krämlack, och då alltså inte alls speciellt royal blue. Det är väldigt pigmenterat och nästan en one-coater, men det kan bli lite strimmigt så jag applicerade ett andra lager. Det är en total mardröm att städa upp och ta bort just för att det är så välpigmenterat, så om man inte passar sig kan man få gå runt med blåa nagelband tills man doppar fingrarna i aceton. Så himla synd, verkligen, för jag gillar mörkblåa lack då de är ett fint alternativ till svart, men om jag inte har ordentligt med tid så kommer jag aldrig kunna snabbt göra en manikyr med det här lacket. Formulan är ganska tjock i det här lacket också (och säkert anledningen till varför det nästan är en one-coater). Jag gissar att det är för att lacken är över ett år gamla nu, men eftersom de kostar ganska mycket (SEK 85 för 10 ml, och OPI SEK 150 för 15 ml, så nästan samma pris på dem) så borde de hålla sig bättre.
